A few weeks ago my son and I went to a retreat for Single Parent Families. While hearing a devotional we began exploring the beautiful campground and used nature to write the following poems by beginning with the first word and title-- then using a syllable pattern to connect our current emotions to the word.

Inheritance

Beautiful struggle

Beautiful inheritance

Sovereign

no condemnation

only protection

Guidance

path of strife

still a path of abundant life

Psalm 16: 2;5

Grace

Unlimited love

Deep Ocean never sinking

Water

unquenchable thirst

only satisfied by Him

Chaos

not the only way

We always need Him

My favorite one-- we wrote this together 9-11-22 almost a year after my father passed.

Memories

God

Drowning deep

in love like water

Memories

Calm

Free

Renewed with You

Chase

Running after idols

But He runs after us

Control

Power

Money

People

Chase

Running after idols but He runs after us

Rest

Unquenchable thirst

Always only satisfied by Him
