Trouble with Love

Your bitter love and those deceptive eyes

They caught me by surprise

They shouldn’t have, because I’m too wise for those weak lines

You told me you cared with your soft lips, I heard you say I love you when you breathed air into each kiss

My heart beat strong when you whispered my name, but I was an amateur and for you this was just a game.

No emotion in your words, no action to your verbs.

I fell in a trap, and it snapped. Yet I was still too weak to learn

Too weak to learn from the burns that cae from your fire.

Too weak to listen to the singed words that spilled from your desire

But I will break free, I must because I am a child of The One that made me

He has helped me see past your schemes and lay waste to your dreams

Dreams of defacing me and disgracing me-- He has woken me up so that I can see the light that pierces through the darkness and guides me towards the one who is right.
